Case Study: Thales UK achieves a 72% engagement score with Reward Gateway

A Reward Gateway Case Study

Preview of the Thales UK Case Study

Thales uses continuous recognition to involve age-diverse workforce and achieve an engagement score of 72%

Thales UK, a 6,700-employee aerospace & defense business across 46 UK sites, faced a weak recognition culture: a people survey found employees didn’t feel “thank you” was part of the organisation and managers lacked discretion to reward extra effort. With 41% of staff over 50 and many remote or offline workers, Thales UK needed an accessible, age-inclusive recognition programme and turned to Reward Gateway (which already provided their employee discounts) to design a suitable solution.

Reward Gateway implemented a branded recognition hub with a Recognition Toolkit, eCards, InstantAwards™ (Bronze £15, Silver £30, Gold £65) and Above and Beyond Awards, all redeemable through the platform. The result: Thales UK’s engagement score rose to 72%, active hub usage increased to 60% (from 43%), 2.5K eCards have been sent, over 3.2K manager monetary awards issued (a 57% year‑on‑year increase), 455 nominations and 370 winners — with more than a third of employees receiving a monetary award.
