Buildbase, a merchanting organisation with 2,854 employees across 200 locations, faced low trust and participation in its annual engagement survey (around 59%) and underuse of its benefits hub, Grab (76% registered, 35% regular users). Because many employees are offline and dispersed, communications weren’t reaching everyone, so Buildbase engaged Reward Gateway and its Grab employee discounts and engagement platform to help rebuild trust and boost engagement.

Working with Reward Gateway, Communications Advisor Debs refreshed Grab with an anonymity-explainer video, added an online survey option, mailed postcard prompts, launched a “What’s the Latest?” blog, introduced manager champion content, and consolidated access via single sign-on to HR and eLearning. The result: survey response climbed to 77% (a 20% increase), registrations rose to 96% of the workforce, regular logins to 53%, and Buildbase saw increased employee participation in campaigns (including over £17k raised in one month), demonstrating Reward Gateway’s measurable impact on engagement.
