How Transport for London transforms the employee discounts experience to save employees £360k

Transport for London partnered with Reward Gateway to improve the performance of its employee rewards communications and better educate staff on the wider reward package. In 2015, TfL had 24,000 employees across more than 500 locations, but although 90 per cent were registered on myTfL, only 22 per cent were using it each month.

Reward Gateway helped TfL refresh its communications strategy and rebrand the employee engagement hub with brighter, simpler messaging, new campaigns, and additional channels such as digital signage in depots and rest areas. The changes led to a 65% increase in monthly users, a 20% rise in monthly discount spend to £1.5 million, £1.7 million in employee savings, and 13,650 orders per month on average, the highest ever recorded on myTfL.
