The Gym Group, a UK fitness chain with 206 gyms and more than 2,200 employees, needed a better way to keep its workforce engaged, recognized, and informed. The challenge was especially acute because 75% of employees were deskless and did not have access to company email or devices, and turnover in this group was higher than desired. The company worked with Reward Gateway to find a platform for employee recognition and communications.

Reward Gateway provided The Gym Group with CORE, a platform for communications, recognition, rewards, discounts, and wellbeing. Launched in 2020, CORE helped the company stay connected during COVID-19 and drove strong employee adoption, including more than 1,500 eCards sent in one day and 71% of the workforce being recognized or recognizing someone else. Engagement survey completion reached 88%, and employee engagement increased by 14%.
