Case Study: Checkatrade achieves 97% employee engagement with Reward Gateway

A Reward Gateway Case Study

Preview of the Checkatrade Case Study

How Checkatrade reached 97% engagement with its one-stop-shop employee engagement platform and ongoing initiatives in wellbeing, recognition and communications

Checkatrade, the UK’s leading online trade directory with around 440 employees across multiple sites, needed a way to boost engagement, centralise HR resources and support a largely remote workforce—initially looking for a discounts platform but quickly realising they required a single hub for communications, policies, recognition and wellbeing. They partnered with Reward Gateway to deliver that solution, internally branded as “FAB,” to address fragmented comms, improve culture and respond to COVID-related wellbeing challenges.

Reward Gateway implemented an all‑in‑one engagement platform (discounts, HR self‑service, eCards, a Wellbeing Hub and a monthly newsletter “The Check Point”), driving measurable results: ~96% of staff are active users, 50% log in five+ times per week, a 9,000% surge in content engagement (20k+ views, 2k reactions, 500 comments), and over 10.4k eCards sent since 2018 (with well over 8k sent this year). Reward Gateway’s platform has become a core tool for preventing silos, increasing peer recognition and sustaining employee wellbeing and communications across the business.
