Case Study: Heineken achieves 50% increase in peer-to-peer recognition with Reward Gateway

A Reward Gateway Case Study

Preview of the Heineken Case Study

Popular beer manufacturer repackages its reward and recognition strategy, resulting in a 50% increase in the number of employees recognized by their peers

Heineken faced low formal recognition—its My Recognition program reached less than 2% of the 2,400-strong workforce and only 20% of employees felt they received adequate recognition. To address this within existing budgets and across a diverse mix of office, field and brewery staff, Heineken partnered with Reward Gateway to rebrand and relaunch its rewards program as BREWards on Reward Gateway’s employee recognition platform.

Reward Gateway implemented a multi-tiered BREWards solution with eCards, Cheers! instant $65–$100 awards, Inspiring People Awards (IPAs) including monetary and non-monetary experiences, single sign-on access, training for managers and ambassadors, and broad launch communications. In the first five months Reward Gateway and Heineken issued 1,050 eCards, 246 Cheers! awards and 14 IPAs (1,310 awards total), reaching about 54% of employees and increasing peer-to-peer recognition by more than 50%.
