Durleigh Water Treatment Works Igloo aids coordination for Aecom

Wessex Water needed to deliver a major upgrade to Durleigh Water Treatment Works in Somerset to triple capacity, improve potable water supply resilience, and address deteriorating raw water quality. The complexity of the site, including numerous existing underground services and new treatment processes, meant the project required detailed BIM coordination; Aecom used Revizto alongside Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Igloo shared VR.

Revizto was used for design coordination, clash detection, and testing plant operability, with model changes pushed via the cloud into the Igloo environment for immersive review. This helped teams spot clashes faster, improve collaboration with operations staff, identify value engineering opportunities, and better understand maintainable equipment layouts in 1:1 3D, while supporting on-site design reviews with up to 12 people at a time.
