Maray Restaurants - Customer Case Study

Maray Restaurants, led by director James Bates in Liverpool, faced rising costs and functional limits after switching from ResDiary to OpenTable. Paying over £12,000 a year per site and losing control of customer data and web bookings (which were being redirected to OpenTable and generating commission fees) left Maray needing a more flexible, cost-effective reservations solution — ResDiary’s booking platform.

Maray moved back to ResDiary in June 2016, with ResDiary building the diary, migrating the database, inputting bookings, training staff and integrating with their EPOS (Tevalis). The switch delivered measurable results: restored customer data and ownership, cross-site Group Central Reservations, advanced features like pre-payment and yield management, and substantial savings (around £20,000 a year and about £1,000 per site per month for two sites), while giving Maray a single, supported system tailored to their business.
