CorVel Cuts Handle Times for First Notice of Loss Calls By 50% With Replicant

CorVel, a leader in risk and healthcare management solutions, needed a faster, more accurate way to handle First Notice of Loss (FNOL) intake for workers’ compensation claims. Registered nurses were spending too much time on non-clinical registration tasks instead of focusing on injury assessments, and CorVel wanted to improve data accuracy while reducing repetitive manual work. To address this, CorVel partnered with Replicant.

Replicant implemented a Thinking Machine to automate FNOL intake by capturing patient details, identifying location, routing calls appropriately, and delivering a screen pop with caller information to nurses. Replicant also added a Flex Form so patients could verify their information quickly. The result was a 50% reduction in average handle time, from five minutes to two-and-a-half minutes, along with 100% non-clinical intake accuracy and fewer duplicate claims and misspellings.
