Penhaligon's, the luxury fragrance retailer, faced the common ecommerce challenge of significantly lower conversion rates on mobile compared with desktop. To address this, Penhaligon's engaged RedEye's Conversion Rate Optimisation team to optimise the mobile product details page with the objective of increasing mobile conversions and average order value.
RedEye implemented a mobile product page redesign that reduced the product image size and brought key elements — price, “Add to Bag” CTA, description, head/heart/base notes, delivery info and reviews — above the fold. The changes drove a 6.6% increase in revenue per visitor, a >60% drop in image-carousel interactions, a 13.6% rise in product-quantity interactions and a 5% uplift in confirmation-stage conversion, with more customers building higher-value baskets.
