UI/UX improvements for increased conversion rate and AOV

Before Coffee Bean Tea Leaf, a longtime brick‑and‑mortar coffee and tea brand, needed to strengthen its direct‑to‑consumer presence after selling on marketplaces. The merchant migrated from Magento to Shopify Plus with EYEMAGINE to reduce costs and pursue an omnichannel strategy, and selected Recharge as the subscription platform to add flexible subscription plans and robust online/in‑store gift card functionality.

Recharge was integrated into the Shopify checkout and, together with EYEMAGINE’s UI/UX upgrades and gift‑card middleware, delivered a fast, customizable subscription experience (skips, swaps, cadence changes). The results were substantial: online sales tripled, conversion rate doubled, subscribers grew threefold, average order value rose by $5, and the platform change saved about $1M over three years — with Recharge driving stronger subscription conversion and lower acquisition costs.
