Scoutside is a Charleston-based creative and development agency focused on subscription ecommerce that built expertise around Recharge and Shopify integrations. They faced growing demand from subscription merchants—like Art of Sport—for custom, on-brand customer portals to reduce support tickets and smooth post-purchase self-management, beyond what the out-of-the-box Recharge + Shopify solution provided.

Scoutside developed Portal, a proprietary app that uses Recharge’s API and integrates with Shopify to deliver a fully customizable subscription management UI. Using Recharge as the platform, Portal enabled upsells and cross-sells, reduced support volume and churn, and helped merchants achieve standout results—Scoutside reports conversion rates as high as 11% (nearly 4x the global average) while increasing average order value and improving customer retention.
