Mountain Warehouse, an outdoor-gear retailer established in 1997 that largely sells its own exclusive products, partnered with Rakuten Advertising to grow its customer base and boost sales through the affiliate channel. Facing a market where shoppers increasingly hunt for voucher codes, the company aimed to acquire new customers, retain existing ones, and drive incremental sales via publisher partnerships.
To meet these goals Mountain Warehouse ran a two-week exclusive offer with VoucherCodes.co.uk (11–24 November 2013), giving shoppers 20% off sitewide via a unique discount code at checkout. The campaign delivered a 512% increase in sales through Rakuten Advertising and generated a £30,000 revenue boost, results attributed directly to the exclusive voucher promotion.
