Western Union, a 175-year-old remittance giant, needed to modernize its services to become more capital efficient, offer new digital products, and reach more customers. The company partnered with Rain to leverage its full suite of stablecoin infrastructure to power this transformation.

By implementing Rain's infrastructure, Western Union launched Stablecard, a mobile app and integrated Visa card that allows remittances to land as a stablecoin (USDPT) and be spent instantly. This solution eliminated the need for extensive prefunding of global bank accounts, freeing up capital, and allowed for rapid expansion into 37 markets at launch. Rain provided the end-to-end experience, including the mobile app, embedded wallet, and card issuing, enabling Western Union to serve more customers with digitally native financial services.
