A QuestBack Case Study
Karolinska Institutet faced the challenge of administering a large longitudinal health study, the BAMSE Project, which followed 4,000 children to investigate the rapid rise of allergies. The project's initial method of conducting surveys via physical mail was extremely time-consuming and costly, taking weeks to administer and costing hundreds of thousands of kronor in postage alone. This created a significant administrative burden for their statisticians and staff. To improve the response rate and efficiency of this critical research, they turned to the vendor QuestBack.
The solution was implemented using Questback's survey platform. This transition to digital surveys drastically reduced administration time and costs, and provided immediate access to preliminary results through the Live Report function. The result was an incredible 75% response rate from participants over the long-term study. The platform's cost-effectiveness also enabled new research initiatives, such as a large COVID-19 study. The data gathered through these Questback surveys has led to several important scientific discoveries and published articles on allergies and respiratory diseases.
