Goodwill of Central Arizona Listens, Addressing Employee Feedback with Positive Change

Goodwill of Central Arizona, a nonprofit with more than 1,000 employees, received nearly 1,500 comments from its 1,063 staff in a Best Places to Work survey. Leadership was committed to using that feedback but needed a better way to gather, analyze, and act on the data so employees would feel heard and the organization could improve retention and engagement.

By customizing their survey and using advanced reporting, Goodwill organized comments into common themes, linked initiatives and progress directly to employee feedback, and created programs to close communication gaps. The approach gave leaders the perspective and momentum to align actions with core values, support growth strategies, and drive higher employee engagement and retention.
