Yale School of Management’s Behavioral Lab supports faculty and PhD researchers in behavioral economics, decision-making, behavioral marketing and social psychology, and runs the elab online survey site. The lab faced difficulties implementing randomization and branching and often needed programming expertise to build complex surveys—skills most researchers lacked.

By adopting Qualtrics Research Suite, Yale researchers created surveys with varied question types (including image answers), weighted randomization and optional JavaScript for advanced customization, while eliminating the need for programming in most studies. The result: Qualtrics became the research backbone at Yale SOM, enabling easy elab integration and flexible workflows for both nontechnical and technical users.
