A Qualtrics Case Study
Purdue University Calumet’s School of Management, led by a marketing professor, needed to run national studies on marketing’s influence in new product development but was constrained by high survey costs, poor reach using phone/mail methods, limited ability to individualize surveys, and messages being flagged as spam.
By adopting Qualtrics Research Suite they built and deployed personalized surveys with embedded detail, automatic scheduling for optimal send times, and messages sent from personal addresses, while leveraging a university-wide license to cut costs. The team collected data from nearly 200 project managers across the U.S., received most responses within 48 hours, identified “rationality” as the most effective influence tactic, and greatly expanded student researchers’ ability to conduct independent studies.
