American Society of Health System Pharmacists - Customer Case Study

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) is a national professional organization of nearly 40,000 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A small internal research team had to support a highly diverse membership but was constrained by low-end survey tools that couldn’t deliver the sophisticated, segmented feedback needed for decision-making and advocacy.

ASHP adopted the Qualtrics Research Suite to centralize secure data, combine multiple membership surveys into a single advanced instrument, and run rigorous studies — including a nationwide drug‑shortages study used in Congressional testimony that helped inform the FDA Safety and Innovation Act. The switch dramatically cut survey development and analysis time, doubled ASHP’s Net Promoter Score through better segmentation, enabled more action on findings, and saved about $60,000 by conducting major surveys in-house.
