A Q-nomy Case Study
Gold Coast University Hospital, the busiest health facility on the Gold Coast, was struggling with long queues, extended wait times, and a paper-based clinic management process that lacked visibility, historical data, and reporting. To address these issues, the hospital worked with Q-nomy’s patient journey solution, Q-Flow, implemented by partner NEXA, across five departments including outpatients, pathology collections, and cancer services.
Q-nomy’s Q-Flow platform introduced self-check-in kiosks, digital queue management, multilingual screens, and real-time status tracking integrated with Queensland Health’s PAS. The result was a major improvement in patient flow and service efficiency: check-in time dropped from up to 20 minutes to 30 seconds, appointment confirmation rates rose to as high as 80% in some departments, and staff gained better visibility, reporting, and audit capabilities.
