Westchester Community College, a New York state university serving about 24,000 students each semester, struggled with slow, paper-based sign-in and manual routing that created crowded waiting areas and unpredictable counselor workloads. To modernize student services and improve accessibility across numerous service lines (advising, career planning, financial aid, disability services, etc.), the college adopted Qminder’s queuing system.
Qminder implemented iPad-based check-ins and a Qminder Dashboard that notifies counselors of incoming students and records service intelligence (wait time, service time, visitor history). As a result, counselors can anticipate demand, administrators can reallocate resources based on real data, average wait times fell, and student service efficiency and satisfaction improved.
