How Ravensbourne College manages visitor queues with Qminder

Ravensbourne College, a vocational university for digital media and design, struggled to manage high demand at its central loan service (CLR) that houses over 4,000 pieces of equipment and sees about 84 visitors daily — rising to roughly 270 collections a day. To create a fair, student-friendly waiting experience, Ravensbourne College turned to Qminder’s queue management system.

Qminder implemented a multi-line setup (Standard, Staff, One Item Only) with a wall-mounted iPad kiosk and mobile sign-in to let students join remotely, while staff used the dashboard to manage flow. The Qminder solution made daily operations far more manageable, improved staff and student satisfaction, and handled the large volume of ~270 collections per day without the previous congestion.
