Swiss Civil Registry Office Turns to Qmatic for a Seamless Visitor Flow

Kanton of Basel‑Stadt’s Civil Registry Office, which handles births, marriages and deaths, faced high visitor volumes without a reception desk, many different service types, and the constraints of a listed historical building — all while needing to integrate with existing touchscreens and digital signage. Qmatic deployed Qmatic Orchestra with a 42‑inch touch display, integrated ticket printer, messaging services, mobile staff applications and digital‑signage integration so visitors select services, print tickets and trigger SMS/email alerts to staff; LCD screens show ticket numbers and estimated wait times. Qmatic’s solution also provides real‑time business intelligence on visitor flow, wait and service times, enabling optimized operations, faster transactions, reduced visitor uncertainty and improved staff planning.
