Swindon borough council chooses qmatic to manage appointments with ease

Swindon Borough Council’s Paediatric Therapy Service needed to replace a time-consuming manual appointment process that was causing missed appointments, late cancellations, long waiting lists, and extra admin costs. The service, which supports children and young people through physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy, chose Qmatic Appointment Manager to improve scheduling for its 3,600+ annual patients.

Qmatic implemented a web-based appointment solution that enabled staff to book, amend, cancel, and re-schedule appointments more efficiently, with email and SMS reminders to reduce no-shows and give families more notice. The results were strong: appointment notice increased from 4.5 days to 219 days, available appointments rose 39% from 246 to 341, and the team saved about 188 hours of administrative time in the first five months.
