Self Help Africa - Customer Case Study

Self Help Africa, a not-for-profit working across multiple African countries, needed a single finance system to replace a patchwork of Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks, and Excel used across offices. The charity faced challenges with inconsistent reporting, multicurrency handling, fund accounting, and producing donor-specific reports in formats required by institutional funders such as the EU. PS Financials provided the needed flexibility and standardization.

PS Financials implemented a centralized, multicurrency accounting system with configurable nominal ledgers, custom data entry forms, and real-time access for all country offices via terminal services. The rollout was completed quickly, first going live in the UK and then across Africa in just 10 to 14 days per office. As a result, Self Help Africa now has uniform reports across all territories, faster donor reporting with just a few clicks, lower operational costs, and more time for finance teams to focus on strategic analysis and improving resource use.
