A PROS Case Study
Etihad Airways partnered with PROS to improve its revenue-management forecasting using PROS’ Bayesian forecaster. Over almost two years of collaboration, the teams targeted accuracy issues such as high constraining in low fare classes, excessive information sharing across long-range data collection points (DCPs), and demand patterns on connecting itineraries.
Working with real data and about seven months of testing, they implemented the Customer Choice Model, DCP segmentation, percentage‑available unconstraining, unconstrained attenuation, and updated seasonality and days‑prior patterns. The changes reduced double-counting in tactical classes, better captured seasonality peaks and valleys, improved unconstrained demand estimates, and substantially reduced the need for manual intervention—delivering measurable incremental revenue and forecasting reliability.
