Swisscom IT Services, the IT subsidiary of Switzerland’s leading telecommunications company, provides managed email and messaging services to tens of thousands of corporate and internal users. Facing end-of-life Solaris servers and growing demands for reliable, secure, and compliant email (including Swiss-only data routing and segregated banking traffic), the team needed a uniform, easy-to-manage platform that would improve availability, reduce operational costs, and block spam, phishing, and malware.

Swisscom migrated to Sendmail Sentrion Message Processors (with Sentrion Enterprise Anti‑Virus), integrated third‑party traffic‑shaping and spam filtering, and used Sendmail professional services for the rollout. The new architecture processes about 35 million messages per month (blocking over 30 million unwanted items), delivers near‑100% availability, centralizes management, yields more than 20% lower management costs, and scales easily while keeping data and regulated traffic within Switzerland.
