Leading Technology Company faced a complex big-data analytics challenge: ingest and consolidate retail sales reports from 30–40 external sources with inconsistent device identifiers so they could measure how their components performed inside finished devices. To build an analytics hub around Cloudera for big-data storage and conformity checks, they selected Profisee and the Profisee Platform (Master Data Maestro / Maestro) to provide mastering, fuzzy matching, mapping, de-duplication, stewardship and governance.

Profisee integrated with Cloudera to take unmapped or inconsistent values, run advanced fuzzy matching and build master entities and hierarchies, returning mapped values into the Cleansed Staging layer for BI. As a result, Profisee handles the subset of new records (e.g., ~500,000 from ~20 million incoming records), can process a month’s data to ~88,000 records in about 1.5 hours, and reduces typical 2,000,000-record sets to ~100,000 masters for stewards—accelerating data governance and making conformed, analyzable data available for the company’s analytics teams.
