Major Bank Automates and Manages Credit Approval Process Using ProcessMaker BPM

Banco Económico S.A., a major Bolivian bank headquartered in Santa Cruz with 25+ branches, experienced rapid growth in consumer and SME lending and needed to automate its end-to-end loan process (application, analysis/approval, registration/disbursement). Key challenges included meeting strict regulatory requirements for how forms are presented to customers, combining automated and existing manual steps, building a secure integration with the country’s Integrated Financial System (IFS), and rolling the solution out nationally across all credit application workflows.

Working with Colosa, the bank implemented ProcessMaker BPM: the team modeled the full credit process, created electronic forms that match regulatory presentation requirements, and built a secure web-services connection to the IFS so data flows transparently between systems. The solution supports 500+ users and 7,000–15,000 monthly cases, provides reporting and automatic alerts, and has expedited processing while improving control and the customer experience.
