Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), Nigeria’s largest publicly traded bank with assets of N3.287 trillion and more than 10,000 employees across Africa and the UK, needed to modernize to meet growing customer demands. Its legacy management suite and branch-level workflows created silos, limited customization and scalability, and required reliable integration with SWIFT for foreign-exchange messaging.

GTBank implemented ProcessMaker to centralize and automate back‑office operations, establish a corporate central processing department, automate lending and account management, and integrate SWIFT for forex transactions. The platform became the bank’s most-used application—7,500+ users manage ~20,000 active cases, completing over 4 million cases in six years (about 150,000/month), increased processes from 161 to 204, and strengthened IT capabilities and customer experience.
