NASUWT, the UK’s largest teachers’ union, faced fragmented, manual purchasing across its nationwide network, with one person managing orders, slow authorisations, paper invoicing and limited visibility of spend and agreed supplier price lists. To reduce admin, improve budget control and enable electronic invoicing and PO-stage approvals, NASUWT selected the PROACTIS eProcurement solution (recommended by partner Alphagen) to deliver a simple, configurable system usable by regional and head offices.

PROACTIS implemented an off‑the‑shelf, configurable eProcurement and electronic invoicing solution that integrates with NASUWT’s financial system, enforces PO-stage authorisation, and guides staff through approved purchasing. As a result of PROACTIS, suppliers are paid more quickly, staff now place orders directly rather than through the Procurement Officer, the purchase ledger closes in half the time (from ten days to five), and the Procurement Officer can focus on strategic supplier work while NASUWT gains clearer, trackable spend data.
