Case Study: Bombardier Transportation achieves standardised, automated procurement with Proactis

A Proactis Case Study

Preview of the Bombardier Case Study

Bombardier Transportation extends its partnership with Proactis to help standardise its processes

Bombardier, a global rail manufacturer operating in 22 countries, needed to standardise and automate its indirect procurement and approval processes, simplify the buyer and supplier experience, and unify procurement systems across units—including countries without SAP. The company had worked with Proactis since 2011 using The Business Network and eCatalogue functions and sought to extend that partnership to drive faster, more consistent processes and centralised approvals.

Proactis implemented a cloud-based communications portal with eCatalogue/eShop capabilities, a mini‑tender (spot‑buy) tool, automated approval workflows and integration via The Business Network for digital order exchange. The solution automated routine tasks, improved PO matching and compliance, made information exchange faster and more transparent for 9,444 users handling 21,804 catalogue orders, reduced maverick spend and supplier risk, and materially improved Bombardier’s enterprise-wide purchasing performance.
