Hybrid Charter School Provides Students with Online Speech Therapy

Trivium Charter School, a three-site K–12 hybrid public charter on California’s Central Coast serving about 400 students, needed a way to deliver speech‑language therapy without eating into its limited on‑campus instructional time and while facing difficulty hiring local SLPs. Parents also wanted the ability to observe therapy sessions so they could reinforce skills at home.

Trivium partnered with PresenceLearning to provide live, interactive online speech therapy that students connect to from home, with parents able to sit in or log in to view sessions. The solution offered flexible scheduling and easy rescheduling, improved access to services, and strong parent and student satisfaction; Trivium plans to enroll additional students in the program next year.
