How VSECU optimized its talent to meet customers’ needs

VSECU, a Vermont credit union, was hiring primarily for banking experience and finding those hires often didn’t succeed or fit the culture. To better align people with its customer-first mission, VSECU engaged The Predictive Index (PI) with certified partner The Cornerstone Group and implemented PI’s Hire solution (and later the PI Inspire tools) as part of a broader rethink of HR, recruiting and onboarding.

Using The Predictive Index, VSECU restructured HR responsibilities, moved recruiting into customer-facing teams, and applied PI job/role alignment and team analysis to hire for behaviors and motivators as well as skills. Within three years the credit union reported stabilized membership, stronger lead generation, improved member loyalty and happier, better-aligned employees — outcomes VSECU attributes directly to The Predictive Index’s assessments and coaching.
