Under Armour, the performance apparel company, needed a better way to handle SAP master data loading as its product line grew. After going live with SAP in 2006, the company’s small IT team struggled with seasonal material creation and other high-volume data entry tasks, which required hundreds of person-hours and pulled production planners away from their day-to-day work. The result was an 80% reduction in data transfer time, cutting the process from about 550–600 person-hours and 10 days to 112 hours and 2 days, while follow-up vendor-related entry dropped from 3 days to about 10 minutes.
