The All England Lawn Tennis Club - Customer Case Study

The All England Lawn Tennis Club, host of Wimbledon, needed to guarantee continuous availability of its IBM i–based systems—especially its custom ticketing and bar-code scanning systems—during the high-traffic Championships when downtime would be disastrous. To meet this challenge the Club adopted Precisely’s Assure MIMIX HA (recommended by IBM and implemented annually with REAL Solutions) to protect ticketing, accounting (Geac) and other production applications.

Precisely’s Assure MIMIX HA maintains a real-time replica on a backup IBM i server, automatically failing over if the primary system fails and allowing the Club to be “up and running again within five minutes.” Annual installation by REAL Solutions is fast and requires one person; flawless switchover tests and the ability to run fast, up-to-the-minute reports on the backup system have ensured system availability, optimized revenue and improved operational performance during the Championships.
