They engaged Precisely and evaluated Precisely’s Syncsort ZPSaver zIIP offload and sort solution to analyze and address the capacity and cost issues.
Precisely performed tailored SMF analyses and deployed Syncsort ZPSaver to offload sort work to zIIP, projecting an average 72.4% reduction in CPU time and an 11% reduction in batch elapsed time. After a quick install they saw immediate CPU and elapsed‑time reductions, lower MSU consumption in the 4HRA peak (reducing MLC costs), retained headroom within existing LPAR caps, and successfully delayed the planned CPU upgrade.
