Takata Holdings (U.S.) - Customer Case Study

Takata Holdings (U.S.) is a major, 24x7 automotive-safety manufacturer whose plants rely on continuous access to core business systems; a prolonged outage would disrupt shipping, receiving and production. To protect against rare but costly disasters and hardware failures while supporting peak processing of 2–4 million transactions per hour, Takata engaged Precisely and deployed the Assure iTERA HA high-availability/disaster-recovery solution.

Precisely’s Assure iTERA HA replicates all application and system data from Takata’s production servers in Auburn Hills to a geographically separated backup (initially Greensboro, NC, with a planned move to Aschaffenburg, Germany), enabling rapid role swaps so backup systems can assume production with almost no downtime. The solution handles large transaction volumes with negligible performance impact, enabled a strategic partition consolidation in about an hour, and supports non‑intrusive “virtual role swap” testing during business hours—delivering measurable protection from downtime and easy manageability.
