Strategic Market Alliance (SMA) is a North American cooperative of janitorial, sanitation, health care and foodservice distributors that needed to standardize product information across 59 member distributors and more than 100 manufacturers. SMA faced siloed data, frequent product-handling errors, vendor update limitations, regional variations, and duplicated effort collecting and cleansing supplier data, so it selected Precisely’s EnterWorks PIM platform to provide a centralized, governed approach to product content.
Precisely implemented the multi-tenant EnterWorks PIM with supplier and member portals, DAM, GDSN/GS1 syndication, data quality rules and workflow to create a single source of truth. The solution lets suppliers contribute once and members subscribe and personalize feeds, supporting roughly 250,000 products, 200+ members and 2,000 suppliers, simplifying GDSN processes, reducing duplication and time-to-market, and making advanced PIM capabilities available to members at a fraction of the cost of standalone systems.
