Schwan Foods Company (Schwan’s Home Service) operates nearly 500 U.S. sales and distribution centers and needed to manage thousands of customer records entering from web, call center, and field touch points. Multiple entry points created duplicate customer records, causing missed sales, overlapping deliveries, duplicate mailings and operational inefficiencies, so the company turned to Precisely and its Spectrum Technology Platform to address data quality and master data management challenges.

Precisely integrated the Spectrum solution with Schwan’s web store, call center application and CSM handheld devices to standardize and validate addresses in real time, match new entries to existing records, and queue unresolved addresses for daily scrubbing. The Precisely implementation cut new-customer duplicates created by handhelds by 25%, eliminated manual route entry and duplicate mailings, and delivered a more complete 360-degree view of the customer.
