Fortune 100 Mutual Life Insurance Company partnered with Precisely to address gaps in data governance and quality around a new state-of-the-art investment data hub. Despite long-standing use of spreadsheets and manual processes to track metadata, lineage and licensing, the insurer needed an automated, business-friendly governance solution to make data lineage, ownership and policies visible and sustainable across business and technical teams; Precisely’s Data360 Govern (Precisely Data360) and a Precisely Governance Workshop were selected to support this initiative.

Precisely implemented Data360 Govern and workshop-led planning to create a searchable glossary of 800 business terms with 2,000+ field attributes, automated technical metadata updates for systems like Cognos, Informatica and Oracle (and other core applications), visual business data lineage, personalized stakeholder dashboards and auditable change trails. The Precisely solution eliminated much manual or custom-coding effort, improved transparency and accountability across silos, and provided real-time notifications and governance metrics that made the investment hub’s data more trustworthy and easier to manage.
