OCBC Bank, which processes roughly one million electronic transactions daily, faced a critical availability challenge: tape-based restores could take about eight hours and required staff to re-key a day’s worth of transactions after outages, threatening customer service and regulatory obligations. To solve this, IBM Malaysia proposed and helped deploy Precisely’s Assure MIMIX HA as the high-availability solution for OCBC Bank’s IBM i environment.
Precisely’s Assure MIMIX HA was implemented (with IBM Malaysia providing consultancy, installation and support) to deliver real-time data replication and automated failover to a remote Disaster Recovery Center. The solution enabled almost immediate recovery, eliminated manual re-keying, created realistic test environments, preserved timely RENTAS transfers, reduced downtime, improved branch efficiency and customer response, and ensured continuous availability for OCBC Bank’s core systems.
