A Precisely Case Study
Riverina Water County Council (RWCC), which supplies water to about 75,000 residents across 15,400 km², faced outdated mapping software that didn’t integrate with its asset management system. Staff had to jump between programs and computers, causing delays and errors. With guidance from Precisely, RWCC chose Spectrum Spatial and MapInfo Pro to modernize its GIS and streamline spatial data workflows.
Precisely implemented a web-based Spectrum Spatial solution integrated with MapInfo Pro and RWCC’s asset management system, with real-time syncing and consultant support to upload and configure data and layers. The result: crews use tablets in the field to verify and update assets, upload photos and enter work orders—saving return trips of up to 70 km—while fire services and residents access current maps online, reducing phone inquiries and paper maps and improving speed and accuracy of asset management.
