Fujitsu America inherited a strained BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina environment where the PSTAGE testing/staging partition ran on the same physical server as production and, after a major Power MHS upgrade, began overburdening production. To meet its SLA (no more than four hours downtime) and migrate staging non‑intrusively to disaster recovery, Fujitsu relied on Precisely’s Assure iTERA HA solution that replicates data and applications in real time.

Precisely’s Assure iTERA HA maintained two real‑time replicas (backup and DR), enabling a simple “role swap” to move PSTAGE to the DR machine without disrupting production; the swap worked as planned and Fujitsu now runs backups on replica systems instead of production. The result: PSTAGE testing resources were freed for production use, production performance was preserved (no need to pause apps for backups), all data/applications remain protected, and recovery resiliency was improved by geographically separating the DR site — outcomes delivered by Precisely.
