Case Study: Columbia Sportswear achieves faster, cleaner SAP data conversions with Precisely Automate Studio

A Precisely Case Study

Preview of the Columbia Sportswear Case Study

Connecting active people with their passions faster than ever before

Columbia Sportswear, a global outdoor-apparel company, needed to migrate legacy master and transactional data into a new SAP Apparel and Footwear landscape as part of its Global Business Transformation. The challenge included converting data across 19 countries, 13 languages and compressed, agile timelines while cleansing and purging old records so the new system would be accurate and performant. To meet this need Columbia partnered with Precisely and used Precisely’s Automate Studio (Precisely Automate) to accelerate and simplify the data conversion work.

Precisely implemented Automate Studio and trained Columbia’s data conversion team to build and run automated transaction scripts; the team developed 26 scripts that loaded more than 5.4 million transactions and handled roughly two-thirds of conversions across five releases. Precisely’s solution expanded to 125 global users, improved auditability through run logs, enabled faster SAP security testing (148-script chain), helped meet a compressed nine-month go-live and mitigated scope creep—delivering measurable time savings and higher data quality for Columbia.
