Powerfleet Empowers BAT's Vision for Safer, Sustainable Roads and a Responsible Future

British American Tobacco (BAT), a multinational tobacco and nicotine products manufacturer operating across Europe, Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Australasia, needed to improve fleet safety and sustainability across its 1,867-vehicle fleet in 16 countries. Powerfleet was selected as the preferred vendor for its global coverage and ability to support BAT’s operations, with telematics already in use since 2016 through products including MiX 4000, MiX DriverMate, and MyMiX.

Powerfleet implemented a connected fleet solution built around the MiX 4000 onboard computer, driver alerts, and fleet management apps to help BAT monitor driving behavior and fleet performance. The results included a 40% reduction in speeding incidents and harsh braking events, an 18% drop in harsh acceleration, an ROI of 2.05 over 18 months, and improved fuel efficiency with lower emissions and insurance costs.
