Fort Hudson Nursing Center, a 196-bed not-for-profit skilled nursing facility founded in 1969, needed to eliminate manual, paper-based business and resident care processes that were slowing staff and risking errors. With an employee population accustomed to paper charts, the center sought a user-friendly electronic solution to streamline documentation, medication management, billing and regulatory submissions.
Fort Hudson implemented PointClickCare’s integrated EHR, including eMAR, Point of Care kiosks and financial modules, supported by staff training and phased rollout. The change eliminated 75–80% of paper use, simplified documentation and shift handoffs, improved medication visibility and accuracy, freed staff time for patient care, and cut Medicare Part A/B claim submission time by five days while reducing billing errors.
