Blackbaud’s Customer Evidence & Advocacy team, led by Allyson Crowell, needed a more reliable reference platform to support references, champions and customer stories. The team faced three primary challenges with their previous vendor: poor reference data health that required heavy manual upkeep, intermittent platform reliability issues, and time-consuming, manual program reporting—so they moved to Point of Reference and its ReferenceEdge solution.
Point of Reference implemented ReferenceEdge (launched May 8, 2020) and integrated it natively with Blackbaud’s Salesforce CRM, introduced nominations and streamlined workflows, and provided hands-on account support and training. The result was a seamless migration, faster, real‑time reporting, higher sales adoption (with several hundred ReferenceEdge licenses deployed), reduced manual effort for reporting, better tracking of reference cadence, and increased sales outreach—enabling Blackbaud to more accurately measure monthly references, pipeline influence, and closed-deal impact. Point of Reference’s ongoing support also helped accelerate dashboard and integration work.
