Consolidating Processes and Data to Drive Services Efficiency and New Revenue with Planview PSA

IBM’s Cloud and Cognitive Services division — a global hybrid cloud services group of about 5,000 people — was hampered by fragmented forecasting and project management tools. More than ten regional, home-grown systems and disconnected back-end data made it hard to forecast, get a single version of the truth, optimize resources, or make fast strategic decisions, forcing teams into time-consuming manual data consolidation.

By implementing Planview PSA, IBM C&CS established a single global set of financial forecasting and project-management tools, integrated CRM/HRMS and other warehouses via APIs, and gave project managers and executives real-time dashboards and reports. The rollout retired more than ten legacy tools, enabled one‑button reporting, exposed new revenue opportunities, and freed staff from manual data work — improving decision-making, efficiency, and the division’s ability to scale and plan resources.
