Topco, a strategic sourcing company and the largest American retail food GPO, partnered with PlanSource in spring 2020 to give employees a more user-friendly benefits experience and reduce administrative burden. Before the partnership, Topco’s HR team faced a large influx of benefits questions, manual evidence-of-insurability (EOI) processing, and inefficient dependent verification that pulled HR away from strategic work.

PlanSource implemented an integrated benefits platform—including online EOI capture (in partnership with Lincoln Financial Group), a user-friendly benefits dashboard, call center support, and automated eligibility management—to enable employee self-service and reduce manual tasks. The result: 19 minutes saved per enrollee with automated EOI, 40 hours per week of HR time saved over three months from fewer employee questions, 2 hours saved each month on eligibility tasks, and a noticeably improved benefits experience thanks to PlanSource.
